Lessons take place at my home studio on Garden Drive in Kensington, PE.

(near Mary’s Bake Shop).

My teaching space is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

Lessons are available in 30, 45 and 60 minute time slots on a weekly basis. Based on your registration form, I’ll give you a recommendation and we can discuss from there.

Individual lessons range from $35 – $60 depending on length and instrument of study, and are billed on a monthly basis (due the first lesson of the month).

My primary instruments are oboe and piano.

What is an oboe, you might ask? See the TikTok below for a quick introduction to the instrument!

Why study the oboe?

There is a severe shortage of oboist on the Island. Oboe has a reputation of being a difficult instrument to learn. Their reeds are made by the hand of an oboist and without knowing how to adjust them, they can be a little fussy and lead to a frustrating learning experience.

But the good news is with proper guidance and a capable teacher, playing oboe is just as easy as any other instrument!

I would love the opportunity to help you experience the joy of playing the oboe!

I am a woodwind specialist and am proficient in bassoon, flute, clarinet and saxophone (classical style). Should any of these instruments pique your interest, I can guide your studies!

What will be private lesson look like?

Studying with me can be as intense or relaxed as you like. If you want a challenge, I’ll give you a challenge! If you want to take it slow and enjoy the ride, I’m happy to be your guide. Studying the idiosyncrasies of Frédéric Chopin’s musical phrases is a wonderfully rewarding musical endeavour, but being able to learn a simple version of your favourite song is just as exciting!

Who should study music with Marc?
